After many years of balancing both farming and welcoming guests to Avielochan Cottages, we’ve decided it’s time to retire from farming. This is a big change for us, but we’re excited to look ahead and have more time for adventures, local days out, and travel further afield. We’ll be staying on in the farmhouse and will continue to offer our holiday cottages and caravan to guests throughout the spring, summer, and autumn months.
A Change of Pace
Farming has been a huge part of our lives, but now we’re ready for a new rhythm. We’re looking forward to discovering more of the Cairngorms ourselves. We love finding new trails and spots to recommend to guests who want to experience the real Highlands, whether by car, bike, or on foot.

With our extra time, we’ll be catching up on maintenance and adding some new touches to the cottages. These little additions are our way of making your stay at Avielochan a warm and welcoming experience. We’re dedicated to ensuring that your time here is comfortable and memorable.
