Accessibility

The cottages are on our working farm where we traditionally rear our herd of cattle outdoors.

The following page aims to provide you with all the information you may need to ensure that a holiday at Avielochan Cottages will fit with your access requirements. We live on site and are happy to help at all times. If you have any questions regarding your access requirements please just get in touch.

 

Location

We are 2 miles from the nearest village of Aviemore with supermarkets, shops, pubs and fuel station, and 28 miles from the small city of Inverness.

 

Public Transport

The local bus can be caught at our farm road end.  There is a railway station in Aviemore (2 miles) where the main rail line runs between London/Edinburgh/Glasgow and Inverness.

The Croft

Approach to property

  • The property is approached off the A95 via a well maintained track.
  • Parking is adjacent to property on large gravel/small stones.
  • Entrance is on ground level.

Paths & Gardens

  • Garden area with grass accessed via slight sloping bank.
  • Level sitting area of large gravel/small stones with outdoor table and benches.

 

Ground Floor

  • The ground floor rooms are all on one level (entrance porch, hall, sitting room, single bedroom, shower room, dining room, kitchen).
  • There is a mixture of vinyl flooring and carpeting.
  • The shower room has a toilet, wash basin, and shower cabinet to step in to.

 

First Floor

  •  The stairs in this traditional croft cottage lead from the hall to the upper floor and are narrow and steep.  There is a small landing with skylight window.
  • The door on the left at the top of the stairs leads to the twin bedroom and to the right of the landing is the double bedroom.  Both have low doorways and coombed ceilings

 

Dogs

  • One or two dogs are welcome by arrangement.  Guests need to keep in mind that there is livestock and wildlife on the farm and they should not be left unattended in the cottage.

 

Outdoor Storage

  • There is a shed adjacent to the cottage for storage of bikes, skis and other outdoor equipment.

 

Communication

  • There is free WiFi in the cottage.

HillView Cottage

Approach to property

  • The property is approached off the A95 via a well maintained track.
  • Parking is to the side of the property approximately 15 metres from the front or back door gravel/small stones.
  • The front door has two steps in to the entrance hall and at the back door there is one step in to the boot room.

 

Paths & Gardens

  • Enclosed garden with grassed area on the same level and on an upper level accessed via a slope or garden steps.
  • Level sitting area on grass and gravel/small stones with outdoor seating and benches.
  • The garden can be accessed via both the front and back door.

 

Inside

  • All rooms are on ground level.
  • There is a mixture of vinyl flooring and carpeting.
  • The shower room has a toilet, wash basin and walk in shower with a low level tray.
  • The boot room has a compact cloakroom with toilet and wash basin.
  • The three bedrooms are adjacent to the shower room.

 

Dogs

  • One or two dogs are welcome by arrangement.  Guests need to keep in mind that there is livestock and wildlife on the farm and they should not be left unattended in the cottage.

 

Outdoor Storage

  • There is a shed adjacent to the cottage for storage of bikes, skis and other outdoor equipment.

 

Communication

  • There is free WiFi in the cottage.

Lochside Cottage

APPROACH TO PROPERTY

  • The property is approached off the A95 via a well maintained track.
  • Parking is adjacent to property on gravel/small stones.
  • The entrance to the cottage has one step in to the hall way.

  • Grounds with gravel/small stones.
  • Level sitting area with outdoor seating and table.

 

Inside

  • All rooms are on ground level.
  • There is a mixture of vinyl flooring and carpeting.
  • The shower room has a toilet, wash basin and shower cabinet to step in to.

 

Dogs

  • One or two dogs are welcome by arrangement.  Guests need to keep in mind that there is livestock and wildlife on the farm and they should not be left unattended in the cottage.

The Hide Caravan

Approach to property

  • The property is approached off the A95 via a well maintained track.
  • Parking is adjacent to property on hard ground/grass.
  • Entrance is via a flight of 3 steps.

 

Paths & Gardens

  • Small fenced grassed area.
  • Outdoor seating and table.
  • Level sitting area.

 

Inside

  • All rooms are on the same level.
  • There is a mixture of vinyl flooring and carpeting.
  • The shower room has a toilet, wash basin and shower cabinet to step in to.

 

Dogs

  • One dog is welcome by arrangement.  Guests need to keep in mind that there is livestock and wildlife on the farm and they should not be left unattended in the cottage.
